About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Rust Engineer with deep backend expertise and strong experience in high-performance indexing systems to join a remote engineering team building scalable infrastructure on Solana.

This role sits at the core of a blockchain system, responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing backend services that ingest, index, and serve large volumes of on-chain data in near real-time. You’ll work closely with protocol engineers, data engineers, and product teams to power critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Rust services for blockchain data processing and indexing

• Develop and optimize Solana indexing pipelines, including transaction, account, program, and event data

• Architect scalable backend systems capable of handling high throughput, low latency workloads

• Work with RPCs, validators, and on-chain data sources to ensure accurate and resilient data ingestion

• Optimize storage, querying, and retrieval layers (SQL / NoSQL / time-series / custom data stores)

• Implement fault-tolerant, observable systems (logging, metrics, tracing)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate protocol-level data into consumable APIs

• Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and provide technical guidance to other engineers

• Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience

• Strong proficiency in Rust, including async programming and memory-safe system design

• Proven experience building indexing, data ingestion, or event-driven systems

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimization

• Hands-on experience with blockchain infrastructure, ideally Solana

• Experience working with RPCs, node data, or blockchain state reconstruction

• Strong knowledge of backend architectures, APIs, and data pipelines

• Comfortable working in a remote, async, high-ownership environment

• Deep familiarity with Solana internals, programs, and runtime behavior

• Experience building or maintaining blockchain indexers, explorers, analytics platforms, or data APIs

• Knowledge of tools like Kafka, Redis, Postgres, ClickHouse, or similar data stores

• Experience with containerization, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure

• Prior experience in Web3 startups or protocol-level teams

• Open-source contributions (especially in Rust or blockchain ecosystems)

Key Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Development: Design and develop high-performance software solutions by analyzing data usage, system flows, and work processes.
• Backend Excellence: Build and maintain scalable microservices and monolithic architectures using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Database Management: Architect and optimize relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Technical Leadership: Supervise junior developers, conduct meticulous code reviews, and establish coding standards to ensure product viability.
• Cloud & DevOps: Deploy and manage applications within AWS or Azure environments using Docker and Kubernetes for containerization.
• Integration & Innovation: Implement third-party integrations
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to recommend improvements in policies, procedures, and technical stacks.

Required Technical Skills

• Languages/Frameworks: Expertise in Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and Express. Proficiency in React or React Native for full-stack versatility is a plus.
• Databases & ORMs: Deep knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and ORMs like Prisma or Mongoose.
• Architecture: Mastery of REST and GraphQL API design.
• Infrastructure: Solid experience with AWS (Serverless, EC2), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring: Ability to implement logging and monitoring using tools like Grafana and Prometheus or any relevant tool

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a heavy focus on backend development.
• Proven track record of leading technical projects and managing junior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
